Fresh Picked Strawberries

My daughter and I picked our first strawberries of the season from one of our favorite growers, Lee Farms in Tualatin, Oregon. They are some of the yummiest strawberries I have ever tasted. We enjoyed eating a big bowl when we got home, then have been juicing the rest.

When you eat produce that is fresh and locally grown, you're getting vital nutrients. When you buy produce in a supermarket, you are not sure how far it travelled to get there or how long it has been sitting on the shelf. The longer a piece of fruit or vegetable is plucked from the earth, the less nutritious it becomes. To find seasonal produce in your area, go to http://www.localharvest.org/ to find farmers' markets near you.
