Car Crash

Life has been one crazy ride lately - literally! My family and I were involved in an auto accident over the weekend. An individual failed to stop at a stop sign and t-boned right into us. We are all feeling a bit sore, bruised, and emotional. I ended up with a concussion and have been experiencing nausea with a pretty nasty headache.

The incident was unfortunate for everyone involved but also a blessing in disguise. My 15 1/2 year-old daughter was driving with a permit and handled the vehicle like a pro. Her quick thinking and intuition saved our lives because there were five of us in the vehicle and none of us saw it coming but her. I don't even want to consider the outcome if she had panicked and slammed on the brakes.

A traumatic situation such as a car crash, death, natural disaster, etc puts everything into perspective and reminds you how precious life is and the value of loved ones. Life just comes to a stand still. All that mattered in that brief snapshot in time was the help and support from friends and family.

My grandmother, Henrietta says, "Live each day as though it were the last." She was my mother's best friend and died one month before I was born of a massive heart attack. Thankfully, she has always been close by in Spirit when I need some grandmotherly advice.
