Gaining Clarity

Clear Lake, Oregon
I've been flailing a bit lately. Bobbing in the water trying to figure out which direction to swim. I have a tendency to get distracted and overwhelmed. I'm a Gemini and very analytical. Always over thinking everything. So I had a melt down recently and hit bottom. What a beautiful place to be because it pushed me to a place of surrender. Rather than holding my breath, I allowed the water to rush in and fill my lungs, cleansing my body and spirit. I experienced peace and came to the realization that I do everything right. From a soul perspective there are no mistakes just lessons. An opportunity to gain insight from experiencing contrast. If something doesn't feel right then our inner guidance system helps push us in a different direction, down a path that is more in line with our higher purpose. The secret is learning to listen!

When I need to do some deep soul searching, it is essential that I spend time alone away from distractions. This past week, I made time for myself. It has been very hot here lately in the high desert of Central Oregon, and I have been spending every chance I get in the water. The water element is very cleansing and uplifting. A wonderful way to gain clarity. While swimming, floating or rowing in the water, I realized that there were some people in my life that I needed to set healthy boundaries with. As a sensitive and loving person, I never want to hurt someone else's feelings but I'm not in a place where it is beneficial to extend my time and energy to others when I need to get right with myself. Setting healthy boundaries involves being honest with myself and others around me. It is very healthy to say no to requests that don't feel right. When we honor and trust our feelings, we get very clear on what is and isn't acceptable in our relationships.

Another extremely self-loving thing that I did was to clear my chakras and release etheric cords. This is something I will be writing more about on my blog in the future. Energy healing is a subject that is dear to my heart and has always been something that I am innately aware of. When we experience fear towards a situation or a relationship, it creates etheric cords that most cannot see but everyone can feel. These cords can lead to fatigue and other physical imbalances. Other people can hook into us if we are a vibrational match. A classic example of when we need to release cords is when we end a relationship with someone. Obsessive thoughts about someone or feelings of anger can create unhealthy cords. Some people are very aware that they are placing energetic cords on others, while others are unaware of what they are doing. These cords keep us connected to our past, which is why we keep repeating the same relationship patterns. We must release the past in order to attract new experiences and lessons in our future.

This past week I also got really clear about what my short term goals are and what I need to do in order to achieve them. This involves facing things that I have been fearing or procrastinating on. I made a list of my priorities and scheduled them in on my calendar. This simple action alone has been really helpful in creating a focused intention while keeping me motivated to stay on target. Fear and worry keep us from experiencing goodness in our lives. We draw into our lives what we focus on and if we focus on the negative, we will experience undesirable circumstances. I had to remind myself that we live in an abundant Universe and by having faith, a positive mindset, and determination all of my needs will be provided for.

Last but not least, I cannot emphasize enough how going to a place of gratitude can be so healing and rewarding. As I just mentioned, by focusing on things that we are grateful for, it allows the Universe to keep delivering abundance into our lives. So in addition to my "to do" list, I made a "gratitude" list and felt much better after I did it! The list helped shift my focus from fear of the unknown to appreciation of all the blessings I already have in my life.
