How To Eliminate Toxic Dryer Sheets

All of my children, including myself are extremely sensitive and have experienced skin sensitivities over the years for various reasons. Years ago, I switched laundry detergents and eliminated dryer sheets. This simple change had profound repercussions in our lives. We no longer inhaled strong toxic fragrance from our sheets and clothes; the skin rashes went away and so did the headaches.

I have tried many different environmentally safe and hypoallergenic laundry detergents over the years. My favorite right now is Kirkland Environmentally Responsible Laundry Detergent from Costco. It does the job and doesn't leave our clothes smelling like perfume.

In regards to dryer sheets, they are TOXIC and UNNECESSARY. The best and cheapest way to avoid static cling is to simply add 1 Tablespoon of baking soda to your laundry wash (even for extra large loads). That's it! I have been using baking soda for years with no need to use dryer sheets.

Dryer sheets contain extremely toxic chemicals that are not good for you or the environment. Many of the compounds found in dryer sheets are known carcinogens. The chemicals in the sheets wind up in your clothing which get absorbed by the skin. When heated, the fumes are toxic when inhaled.

Finding a safe laundry detergent that you like and ditching the dryer sheets can improve the health of you and the planet! Also, eliminating dryer sheets can save you money in the long run :)
